Tax Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Tax Specialist focused on Audit, Controversy, and Defence to join a dynamic, international corporate group. Reporting to the Head of Tax, you will provide critical technical, analytical, and administrative support in managing tax audits, reviews, investigations, and dispute resolution across the business. Serving as a central coordination hub between internal Finance, Legal, and Operations teams, tax authorities, and external advisors, you will take ownership of audit schedules, tax reconciliations, dispute tracking systems, and SARS query drafting. If you possess exceptional data analysis skills, a strong grasp of tax administration processes, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this role offers an outstanding platform to defend the Group’s tax positions and advance your career.

Requirements:
• Education: A completed Bachelor’s Degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or a related commercial field (Postgraduate tax qualifications are highly advantageous).
• Technical Experience: Strong understanding of tax audit procedures, dispute resolution, tax compliance, and indirect/corporate income tax administration principles.
• Data Analysis & Systems: Advanced MS Excel skills with demonstrated expertise in preparing audit schedules, financial reconciliations, and complex tax data analyses.
• Dispute & Document Management: Proven ability to manage document control, maintain case trackers/dashboards, enforce strict record retention, and ensure timely submissions to tax authorities.
• Interpersonal & Governance: Clear, confident communication skills with a collaborative mindset to coordinate cross-functional teams, resolve queries, and support internal governance and provisioning frameworks.
