Management Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking an insightful, analytical, and commercially minded Management Accountant to join a leading corporate group. Reporting directly to the Head of Financial Reporting, this role goes beyond balancing numbers to provide strategic financial insights, strengthen internal controls, and drive informed business decisions. You will hold ownership over key finance operations, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, conducting general ledger reconciliations, and preparing variance analysis and management reporting packs for executive stakeholders. If you excel at transforming complex financial data into actionable commentary and building collaborative relationships across finance, actuarial, and operational teams, this position offers an outstanding platform to showcase your expertise.

Requirements:
• Education & Designations: Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or Commerce (CIMA, SAIPA, or CA(SA) qualifications are highly advantageous).
• Relevant Experience: 3 to 5 years’ management accounting experience in a complex corporate or financial services environment.
• Technical Core Functions: Proven expertise in preparing monthly journal entries, posting accruals, conducting general ledger to sub-ledger reconciliations, and supporting full month-end close procedures.
• Reporting & Analysis: Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive management reporting packs, perform in-depth budget vs. actual variance analysis, and identify business trends and risks.
• Controls & Collaboration: Strong balance sheet control experience, audit preparation skills, and the communication acumen required to partner effectively with Finance Business Partners, Group Reporting, Tax, and Audit stakeholders.
