Job Description

Our client, a prominent financial services firm, is seeking an experienced Actuarial Valuations Manager to lead their valuations team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will oversee regulatory, risk, and management valuations, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the valuation and financial reporting processes in alignment with industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business strategy and decision-making, including contributions to the annual budgeting process.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including SAM, ORSA, and other actuarial standards.
• Manage the team’s responsibilities, including regulatory submissions, capital requirement determination, life product valuations, offshore capacity monitoring, and analysis of insights and movements.
• Oversee annual budgeting and quarterly reporting processes.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance, or Financial Management.
• AMASSA qualification.
• Experience in actuarial valuations for a life insurance company, including SAM and ORSA.
• Strong understanding of wealth and investment products.
• Familiarity with R, Python, or PowerB and advanced skills in Excel, VBA, and SQL.
